Port Dickson International Triathlon 2008 (Asian Cup Series)

Triathlon is a celebrated sporting event in Malaysia. It is an endurance sport that is made up of successive stages of swimming, cycling and running at various distances. Two categories of the sport are popular in the country: the Olypmic Distance (which goes for 1.5 kilometers of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling, and 1.5 kilometers of running) and the Sprint Distance (involving 300 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling, and 3 kilometers of running).

Accordingly, Admiral Marina & Leisure Club is one of the main organizers of an international triathlon competition that has been going on at Port Dickson since 2002. And this year, on its seventh consecutive run, Port Dickson International Triathlon 2008 (Asian Cup Series) will come about on 18 – 20 July.

This athletic contest is again set to attract triathletes not just from Malaysia but from the rest of the world as well. Port Dickson International Triathlon has been tagged as the most successful triathlon event in the country as it always attract the highest number of participation from world-class triathletes.

Port Dickson International Triathlon 2008 (Asian Cup Series) is jointly organized by the State Government of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, Tourism Malaysia, State Tourism Action Council, Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson, Trisportz Event Management and Admiral Marina & Leisure Club. It will be held with the patronage of YAB Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, the Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus.

And once again, this sports contest has been chosen as one of the most spectacular events under the Visit Malaysia Year program that began in 2007 and has since been extended up to August 2008.
