Port Dickson International Half Marathon 2008

On May 25 this year, all roads will lead to Admiral Marina & Leisure Club as it hosts the Port Dickson International Half Marathon 2008. This international event is set to grace the small town of Port Dickson, on the western coast off Malaysia’s Negeri Sembilan state.

The marathon event was first held in May 2006 with over 1,100 participants coming from all over Malaysia and neighboring countries. In its sophomore year, Port Dickson International Half Marathon attracted more than 2,000 local and international competitors.

This coming May, at least 3,000 runners are expected to join. Marathon enthusiasts from national and local sports associations, schools, universities, and running clubs will match skills and endurance against each other. They will also run against marathoners from other countries like Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Kenya.

Apart from the international half marathon, events like the 11-kilometer run and the school children category are expected to fire up the action as well. Also, VIPs and celebrities taking part in the VIP Fun Run will surely delight other participants and spectators. Prizes in cash and in kind, plus trophies, await winners in each category. In addition, live entertainment and other fun activities will be in store for everyone’s enjoyment.

Port Dickson International Half Marathon 2008 is made possible through the joint efforts of the State Government of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, Negeri Sembilan Tourism Action Council, Negeri Sembilan Athletic Amateur Association, Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson and Admiral Marina & Leisure Club.
