Sails will flutter this coming 26 July 2008 as Port Dickson will, yet again, serve as one of the official entry points for the biggest and most spectacular yacht rally in Asia. The Darwin-Bali-Langkawi Yacht Rally is an annual sailing event that spans four countries, two continents and hundreds of yachts. In November this year, Port Dickson will again become one of the stopover ports for the Blue Water Yacht Rally. This bi-annual yachting event sails off from and ends in Gibraltar. The yachts, numbering thirty-three in all, will circumnavigate the globe for one whole year, broken off only by 18 stopovers.
This is not like any other yachting event because racing is definitely out of the picture. Skippers, crews, and their families will be sailing through some of the most spectacular places in the world at their own pace and leisure.
